Twin Platform Bed with Headboard Style
Twin platform bed with headboard – Platform beds generally come without end caps. They are intended cheaper without them. A headboard is just that, a board that you put at the head of the bed. Upholstered headboards can be extracted to match the changing decor of your bedroom. Solid, painted and trimmed gables have a classic beauty to suit a variety of styles. They can be coated or painted. Here is an easy to build headboard design.
Build a twin platform bed with headboard, cut the plywood or a salvaged wooden door to the size and shape you want for your headboard with a circular or reciprocating saw. Make sure that it is no wider than the width of the bed. Place the headboard face down on your quilted batting. If you want it softer, you can put a piece of foam between batting and headboard. Place the fabric you have chosen to cover the headboard. Drag the bottom edge of the fabric over the bottom edge of the headboard and staple in place.
Trim the canvas cotton backing cloth the size of the headboard. Place the backing on the back of the headboard; fold down an inch of the raw edges as you staple the bottom edge first then the top and sides stretching as you go. Cut two 1-by-4 legs long enough to reach from the bottom of the side of the platform bed that is against the wall for at least two thirds of the way up the back of the headboard. Set the head of the bed on the back of the platform frame to drill three evenly spaced holes through the lower part of the two legs of the twin platform bed with headboard frame.
